Rhone

Côtes du Rhône Villages 2007, Darriaud Réserve

Warm, ripe red fruit with jammy damson characters, gentle tannins and a rounded chocolatey finish.
Côtes du Rhone 2005, Chateau Gigognan

Brilliant red with generous aromas of red berries and brambles including spicy notes. It is supple and rich and at the same time quite sharp. Blended with Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Carignan and Cinsault.
Crozes Hermitage 2005, Domaine Michel Poinard

Full of character with an abundance of fruit. Mid-weight with firm and well integrated tannins.
Gigondas 2003 Vieilles Vignes, Domaine du Grand Montmirail

A bouquet with a hint of spices with prunes and blackcurrants on the palate. Soft tannins.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape ‘Clos du Roi’ 2001, Chateau Gigognan

Dark solid red. Cocktail of Grenache and Mourvedre and few more that no-one has ever heard of! The region is at the very bottom of the Rhone Valley, just north of Avignon. Earthy bouquet, big and full with a velvety and slightly peppery taste in the mouth. Chunky long masculine finish with nice even black fruit flavours.
